Catalysis, Energy and Environment (CEE) is a gold open-access journal that serves as an interdisciplinary platform for advancing catalysis research across materials, energy and environmental sciences. The journal publishes original, high-quality research and critical reviews that bridge fundamental catalytic science and practical applications in sustainable energy, conversion, environmental remediation, and green chemistry.
CEE particularly encourages contributions that provide new insights into the design, synthesis, characterization, and mechanism of catalysts for energy and environmental processes, as well as emerging technologies that promote carbon neutrality and the circular economy.
Main research topics include, but are not limited to:
1. Fundamental Catalysis Research in Electrocatalysis, Photocatalysis, and Thermal Catalysis
• Synthesis, characterization, and structure-activity relationships of catalysts
• Mechanistic and theoretical studies in electrocatalysis, photocatalysis, and thermal catalysis
• Development of multifunctional and hybrid catalytic systems
2. Catalysis for Clean and Sustainable Energy
• Biomass conversion and catalytic utilization
• Photocatalytic and electrocatalytic water splitting and hydrogen production
• Solar-to-fuel and solar-to-electric energy conversion
• CO2 conversion and utilization
• Green energy conversion and storage
• Catalytic processes for green energy storage and transformation
3. Catalysis for Environmental Protection
• Environmental catalysis for wastewater purification and resource recovery
• Catalytic abatement of air pollutants (NOx, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), etc.)
• Eliminations for nitrogen oxides and VOCs
• Advanced oxidation processes for clean water and waste valorization
• Catalytic technologies for the circular economy and sustainable environmental management
By integrating catalysis, energy, and environment, CEE aims to foster innovation and collaboration that drive the transition toward a cleaner, low-carbon, and sustainable future.
