Xing Zhang

Dr. Xing Zhang is a Professor in the School of Aerospace Medicine at the Fourth Military Medical University. He received his PhD in physiology from the Fourth Military Medical University in 2013, and serves as an investigator in the Laboratory of Aerospace Cardioprotection, the Key Laboratory of Aerospace Medicine of the Ministry of Education. His research focuses on the biological effects of exercise on health and the underlying mechanisms, with specific interests in metabolic regulation and mitochondrial function.

Barry A. Franklin, PhD, is the Director Emeritus of Preventive Cardiology and Cardiac Rehabilitation at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital, Royal Oak, Michigan, USA. He also serves as Professor of Physiology at Wayne State University School of Medicine and Professor of Internal Medicine at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. His research focuses on exercise physiology, preventive cardiology, early detection of cardiovascular disease, and cardiovascular risk reduction. In 2024, he was ranked #4 worldwide in cardiorespiratory fitness and #5 in cardiac rehabilitation by ScholarGPS.
Dr. Franklin previously served as President of the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR) and the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), and currently serves on the Board of the American Society for Preventive Cardiology (ASPC). He is the former Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation and Prevention. To date, he has published more than 700 academic works, including 595 clinical/scientific papers, 105 book chapters, and 27 books, and has delivered over 1,200 invited lectures worldwide. In 2015, he was named among the World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds in Clinical Medicine by Thomson Reuters.
