Special Topic Introduction
Wearable bioelectronics are transforming how health information is continuously acquired, interpreted, and translated into personalized insights. By integrating electronic systems with the human body, next-generation wearable technologies are advancing beyond conventional monitoring toward non-invasive, intelligent, and personalized healthcare. This Special Issue, “Wearable Bioelectronics: The Next Generation of Health Insights” aims to highlight emerging advances in flexible, stretchable, skin-conformal, and biointegrated platforms for high-fidelity monitoring of physiological, biochemical, and biomechanical signals.
Particular attention will be given to advanced materials, soft biointerfaces, multimodal sensing, and multifunctional wearable systems that enhance sensitivity, comfort, reliability, and long-term usability. The Issue also welcomes intelligent wearable technologies integrating artificial intelligence, machine learning, and personalized data analysis for early disease detection, remote monitoring, rehabilitation, and preventive healthcare. Self-powered systems, wireless communication, and low-power electronics are further highlighted as key technologies for practical and sustainable wearable healthcare.
By bringing together advances in materials, device engineering, sensing, biointerfaces, and intelligent computation, this Special Issue aims to showcase the evolution of wearable bioelectronics from conventional monitoring devices toward intelligent, personalized, and continuously connected health systems.
Key areas of interest include but are not limited to:
● Flexible, stretchable, skin-conformal, and biointegrated wearable bioelectronics for continuous health monitoring;
● Wearable sensors and multimodal platforms for physiological, biochemical, and biomechanical signal detection;
● Soft bioelectronic interfaces and advanced materials, including hydrogels, elastomers, conductive polymers, nanomaterials, and liquid metals;
● Self-powered, energy-efficient, and wireless wearable systems for long-term and autonomous health monitoring;
● AIand machine-learning-enabled wearable systems for health data analysis, personalized diagnostics, and predictive healthcare;
● Wearable bioelectronics for disease monitoring, early detection, rehabilitation, remote healthcare, and personalized medicine;
● Human–machine interfaces, digital health platforms, and emerging wearable technologies for next-generation healthcare applications.
